    Algonquin Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in 
    FERC Gas Tariff
    
    May 10, 1996.
        Take notice that on May 8, 1996, Algonquin Gas Transmission Company 
    (Algonquin) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Fourth 
    Revised Volume No. 1, Ninth Revised Sheet No. 1100. The proposed 
    effective date of the tariff sheet is June 8, 1996.
        Algonquin states that the purpose of this filing is to indicate the 
    removal of the Index of Customers from Algonquin's FERC Gas Tariff, 
    Fourth Revised Volume No. 1.
        Algonquin states that the removal of the removal of the Index of 
    Customer's from the Tariff is in compliance with the Commission's 
    revised regulations in Sections 284.106 and 284.223. Algonquin requests 
    that the Commission grant any waiver that may be necessary to place 
    this tariff sheet into effect on the date requested.
        Algonquin states that copies of this filing were mailed to all 
    customers of Algonquin and interested state commissions.
        Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
    file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in 
    accordance with 18 CFR 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's Rules 
    and

    Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed as provided in 
    Section 154.10 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests will be 
    considered by the Commission in determining appropriate action to be 
    taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the 
    proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must file a motion to 
    intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and 
    are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
