April 26, 2006.
On March 2, 2006, the New York Stock Exchange LLC (“NYSE”), and on February 2, 2006, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Incorporated (“CBOE”), filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“Commission”) proposed rule changes pursuant to Section 19(b)(1) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (“Act” or “Exchange Act”) [1] and Rule 19b-4 thereunder,[2] that would further expand the scope of products that are eligible for treatment as part of their respective customer portfolio margin pilot programs.[3] A complete description of the proposed rule changes is found in the notices of filing, which were published in the Federal Register on April 6, 2006.[4] The comment periods expire on April 27, 2006.[5]
In response to requests to extend the comment periods, and to give the public additional time to comment on the proposed rule changes, the Commission has decided to extend the comment periods pursuant to Section 19(b)(2) of the Act.[6] Accordingly, the comment periods shall be extended until May 11, 2006.
Interested persons are invited to submit written data, views, and arguments concerning the foregoing, including whether the proposed rule change is consistent with the Exchange Act. Comments may be submitted by any of the following methods: Start Printed Page 25879
