    ACTION: Notice of exemption.

    SUMMARY: The Commission exempts from the prior approval requirements of 
    49 U.S.C. 10903-10906 Southern Pacific Transportation Company's 
    discontinuance of service over a 5.88-mile line of railroad in Los 
    Angeles County, CA, subject to standard labor protective conditions and 
    imposes those conditions on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan 
    Transportation Authority's abandonment of the same line.
    
    DATES: This exemption will be effective on May 24, 1994. Petitions to 
    reopen must be filed by June 20, 1994.
