Northern Border Pipeline Co; Petition for Extension of Limited 
Waiver of Tariff Provision

May 19, 1994.
    Take notice that on May 13, 1994, Northern Border Pipeline Company 
(Northern Border) tendered for filing with the Commission a petition 
for an extension of the limited waiver of section 6 of the General 
Terms and Conditions of Northern Border's FERC Gas Tariff, First 
Revised Volume No. 1, granted by the Commission's letter order dated 
March 31, 1994 in the above-referenced proceeding.
    Northern Border requests an extension of the waiver of Section 6, 
Subsection 6.732, of the General Terms and Conditions of Northern 
Border's FERC Gas Tariff, in order to extend the time period to October 
31, 1994 in which firm shippers have to discharge the Tender 
Deficiencies accumulated during the pipeline outages on Foothills Pipe 
Lines Ltd. on February 15-18 and during the two day planned outage in 
May.
    Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 825 North Capitol 
Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Rule 211 of the 
Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. All such protests should 
be filed on or before May 26, 1994. Protests will be considered by the 
Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will 
not serve to make protestants parties to the proceeding. Copies of 
Columbia's filing are on file with the Commission and are available for 
public inspection.
