    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Notice is hereby given that Dr. Peter Lutz of Florida Atlantic
University has applied in due form to take listed species as authorized
by the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA) (16 U.S.C. 1531-1543) and
the NMFS regulations governing listed fish and wildlife permits (50 CFR
    parts 217-227).
The applicant requests authorization to conduct a detailed study on
the daily movements and habitat usage of green sea turtles (Chelonia

of the spatial distribution of the sea turtles and to allow researchers
to forecast the impact of oil spills on the turtles, in order to take
timely remedial action. The applicant requests this authorization for a
    duration of two years.

application should be submitted to the Director, Office of Protected
