Williams Natural Gas Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in FERC
    Gas Tariff

    April 29, 1996.
Take notice that on April 24, 1996 Williams Natural Gas Company
(WNG) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Second
Revised Volume No. 1, Substitute First Revised Sheet No. 6B, Substitute
Second Revised Sheet No. 250A and Substitute First Revised Sheet No.
    250B, to be effective April 13, 1996.
WNG states that on March 13, 1996, it filed tariff sheets in this
proceeding to be effective April 13, 1996, to discount its fuel charges
in certain competitive situations for transactions involving no
incremental fuel consumption. By order issued April 9, 1996, the
Commission accepted the tariff sheets to become effective April 13,
1996, subject to WNG filing, within 15 days of the issuance of the
order, revised tariff sheets to reflect that WNG will assess a zero
fuel charge for all transportation backhauls between the specified
receipt and delivery points. The instant filing is being made to
    reflect this tariff change.
WNG states that a copy of its filing was served on all participants
listed on the service list maintained by the Commission in the docket
referenced above and on all jurisdictional customers and interested
    state commissions.
Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE.,
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to
the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
    Linwood A. Watson, Jr.,
    Acting Secretary.
