Pacific Fishery Management Council; Public Meeting
AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.
ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: The Pacific Fishery Management Council's (Council) Groundfish
Stock Assessment Review (STAR) Panels will hold two work sessions which
are open to the public.
DATES: The cowcod/black rockfish review panel will meet beginning at
8:00 a.m., May 24, 1999 and continue until 5 p.m. on May 28, 1999 or as
necessary to complete business. The canary rockfish/ petrale sole
review panel will begin at 10:00 am, June 14, 1999 and continue until
5:00 p.m. on June 18, 1999, or as necessary to complete business.
ADDRESSES: The cowcod/black rockfish review panel will be held in Room
C-127 at NMFS Southwest Fisheries Science Center, 8604 La Jolla Shores
Drive, La Jolla, CA. The canary rockfish/petrale sole review panel will
meet in the main conference room, Guin Library, Hatfield Marine Science
Center, 2030 S Marine Science Drive, Newport, OR 97365.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of the meetings is to review
draft stock assessment documents and any other pertinent information,
work with Stock Assessment Teams to make necessary revisions, and
produce STAR Panel reports for use by the Council family and other
interested persons.
Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before
this group for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens
Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the
subject of formal action during these meetings. Action will be
restricted to those issues specifically identified in this notice.
