    SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

This investigation was instituted on September 22, 2006, based on a complaint filed by Merck & Co., Inc., of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1337) in the importation into the United States, the sale for importation, and the sale within the United States after importation of certain alendronate salts and products containing the same by reason of infringement of claims 1-5 of United States Patent No. 4,922,007. The complaint further alleges that an industry exists as required by subsection (a)(2) of section 337. The complaint named CIPLA, Ltd., of Mumbai, India as respondent in this investigation.

On February 26, 2007, the complainant filed a motion to terminate the investigation as to all parties based on withdrawal of the complaint, pursuant to 19 CFR 210.21(a).
