    Take notice that the following hydroelectric application has been filed with the Commission and is available for public inspection:

    a. Application Type: Amendment of License.

    b. Project No.: 2203-007.

    c. Date Filed: April 5, 2000.

    d. Applicant: Alabama Power Company (APC).

    e. Name of Project: Holt Lock and Dam Hydroelectric Project.

    f. Location: The project is located on the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.

    g. Filed Pursuant to: Federal Power Act, 16 U.S.C. 791(a)-825(r).

    k. Description of Amendment: APC filed an application to replace the 40-megawatt (MW) generating unit with a new, more efficient turbine runner. The existing runner is more than 30 years old and has excessive deterioration. This installation will provide 5 to 6 MW of additional generating capacity and increase the hydraulic capacity from 9,800 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 11,000 cfs.

In determining the appropriate action to take, the Commission will consider all protests or other comments filed, but only those who file a motion to intervene in accordance with the Commission's Rules may become a party to the proceeding.
