Guilford Fibers, Incorporated Gainesville, GA; Notice of 
Affirmative Determination Regarding Application for Reconsideration

    By letter of February 19, 1999 the company requested administrative 
reconsideration of the Department of Labor's Notice of Negative 
Determination Regarding Eligibility to Apply for Worker Adjustment 
Assistance, applicable to petition number TA-W-35,123. The denial 
notice was signed on January 29, 1999 and will soon be published in the 
Federal Register.
    The company provided additional information regarding its decision 
to close the Gainesville facility which warrants review and supports 
reconsideration of the case.

Conclusion

    After careful review of the application, I conclude that the claim 
is of sufficient weight to justify reconsideration of the Department of 
Labor's prior decision. The application is, therefore, granted.
