Forum for the World Food Summit
AGENCY: Foreign Agricultural Service, USDA.
ACTION: Notice of meeting.

SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given that the U.S. Public Forum for the
World Food Summit will be held June 3, 1996. The purpose of the forum
is to solicit comments on and advice from interested parties, for the
preparation of the U.S. Country Paper for the World Food Summit, and
the Draft Policy Statement and Plan of Action to be adopted at the
Summit.
DATES: The forum will be held Monday, June 3, 1996 from 8:30 to 5:00,
in the Jefferson Auditorium at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in
Washington, D.C.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The meeting is open to the public and
members of the public may provide comments in writing to the Office of
the National Secretary, Foreign Agricultural Service, Room 3008 South
Building, U.S. Department of Agriculture, 14th and Independence Ave.
SW, Washington, D.C. 20250. The draft country paper will be available
in mid-May on the U.S. Government World Food Summit Home Page (www.fas/
food--summit/summit.html), by calling (202) 690-0776, by writing to the
above address, or by faxing (202) 720-6103. The draft Policy Statement
and Plan of Action is also available on the USG World Food Summit Home
Page or by calling the FAO North American Liaison Office, (202) 653-
