Mission Achievement by the Federal Home Loan Banks
AGENCY: Federal Housing Finance Board.
ACTION: Advance notice of proposed rulemaking; extension of comment
period.

SUMMARY: On April 9, 1997, the Federal Housing Finance Board (Finance
Board) published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking requesting
public comment on ways in which the Federal Home Loan Banks (Banks) can
further achieve their statutory mission to support housing finance and
community investment and ways in which the Finance Board, as regulator
of the Banks, can measure and ensure that the Banks achieve their
mission (62 FR 17108, April 9, 1997). Comments originally were
requested by May 9, 1997. In recognition of the broad scope of issues
on which comments have been requested, and in order to receive
comprehensive and creative comments on all aspects of these issues, the
Finance Board has decided to extend the comment period for 30 days for
all commenters.
DATES: Comments must be received on or before June 9, 1997.
