Agenda
The Committee will follow-up from the April Council meeting regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the recreational groundfish fishery, including a discussion of revisiting possible recommendations for Gulf of Maine cod and Gulf of Maine haddock management measures for fishing year 2020. The Committtee will receive an overview of groundfish specifications and management measures anticipated to be included in the action, which will be initiated at the June 2020 Council meeting as well as an overview from the Northeast Fisheries Science Center regarding the management track assessment plans and Assessment Oversight Panel results from their May 27 meeting. They will also receive an introduction of the Executive Order on Promoting Seafood Competitiveness and Economic Growth. The Panel will provide recommendations to the Council, as appropriate. Other business will be discussed, as necessary.
Although non-emergency issues not contained in this agenda may come before this group for discussion, those issues may not be the subject of formal action during this meeting. Action will be restricted to those issues specifically listed in this notice and any issues arising after publication of this notice that require emergency action under section 305(c) of the Magnuson-Stevens Act, provided the public has been notified of the Council's intent to take final action to address the emergency
