    Granite State Gas Transmission Inc.; Notice of Compliance Tariff 
    Filing
    
    June 9, 1997.
        Take notice that on June 5, 1997, Granite State Gas Transmission, 
    Inc. (Granite State) tendered for filing with the Commission the 
    revised tariff sheets listed below in its FERC Gas Tariff, Third 
    Revised Volume No. 1, for effectiveness on June 1, 1997:
    
    Second Revised Sheet No. 215
    Second Revised Sheet No. 289
    
        According to Granite State, the revised tariff sheets are submitted 
    in compliance with a Letter Order issued May 20, 1997, by the Director 
    of the Office of Pipeline Regulation in this proceeding relating to 
    tariff changes and amendments to comply with the principles and 
    standards for critical business practices that have been issued by the 
    Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB) and adopted by the Commission in 
    Order Nos. 587 and 587-B.
        Granite State further states that copies of its filing have been 
    served on its firm and interruptible customers, and on the regulatory 
    agencies of the States of Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
        Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
    with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, 
    Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
    Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. All such protests must be 
    filed in accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's 
    Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in 
    determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to 
    make protestants parties to the proceedings. Copies of Granite State's 
    filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public 
    inspection.
