Notice of Meeting of the Commission on Research Integrity
Pursuant to Public Law 92-463, notice is hereby given of the
meeting of the Commission on Research Integrity, on Monday, June 20,
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Hubert H. Humphrey Building, room 800,
200 Independence Avenue SW., Washington, DC 20201. The meeting will be
open to the public.
The mandate of the Commission is to develop recommendations for the
Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Congress on the
administration of Section 493 of the Public Health Service Act as
amended by and added to by Section 161 of the NIH Revitalization Act of
1993.
The purpose of this inaugural meeting will be to review the history
of scientific misconduct issues in the Public Health Service (PHS) and
to develop an approach to satisfy the mandate of the Commission.
Discussion items may include but will not be limited to the definition
of scientific misconduct, conclusions of the Advisory Committee on
Research Integrity, the role of the Office of Research Integrity, and
related issues.

20852, (301) 443-5300, will furnish the meeting agenda, the Committee
charter, and a roster of the Committee members upon request. Members of
the public wishing to make presentations should contact the Executive
Secretary. Depending on the number of presentations and other
considerations, the Executive Secretary will allocate a time frame for
each speaker.
