AGENCY: Forest Service, USDA.

ACTION: Notice of meeting.

SUMMARY: This notice announces a meeting in which the public is invited 
to provide information concerning the effects of the alternatives being 
considered in the California Spotted Owl Draft Environmental Impact 
Statement on Small Forest Carnivores (furbearers).

DATES AND TIME: July 6-7, 1994, beginning at 1 p.m.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Forest Service is currently preparing a 
Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) to amend the Pacific 
Southwest Regional Guide and Sierran Province Forest Plans with new 
management direction for the California Spotted Owl. The purpose of 
this meeting is gather information concerning the effects of the 
alternatives being considered on small forest carnivores.
    The meeting will begin with a brief overview of the DEIS and 
proposed alternatives. In order to have a productive and meaningful 
meeting the Forest Service asks that speakers focus their presentations 
on scientifically-based information. This meeting will not replace the 
public comment period on the DEIS.
