Public Information Collection Requirement Submitted to the Office 
of Management and Budget (OMB) for Review; Notice

    The Department of Defense has submitted to OMB for clearance, the 
following proposal for revision to a currently approved collection of 
information under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 
U.S.C. Chapter 35).
    Title and OMB Control Number: Epidemiologic Studies of Morbidity 
Among Gulf War Veterans: A Search for Etiologic Agents and Risk 
Factors; OMB Control Number 0720-0010.
    Type of Request: Revision; Emergency processing requested with a 
shortened public comment period ending June 21, 1996. An approval date 
of June 28, 1996 is requested.
    Number of Respondents: 8,900.
    Responses per Respondent: 1.
    Annual Responses: 8,900.
    Average Burden per Response: 12 Minutes.
    Annual Burden Hours: 2,070.
    Needs and Uses: This collection of information is necessary to 
conduct Congressionally directed studies of the health consequences of 
military service in Southwest Asia during the Persian Gulf War. 
Information collected hereby will be used to improve the 
identification, resolution, or prevention of reproductive health 
illnesses, and the formulation of policy. Respondents are current and 
former members of all services of the U.S. Military, including 
reservists and members of the National Guard, as well as female 
veterans who were pregnant during the Persian Gulf War.
    Affected Public: Individuals or households.
    Frequency: One time.
    Respondent's Obligation: Voluntary.
