Information Collection Submitted to the Office of Management and 
Budget for Review Under the Paperwork Reduction Act

    The proposal for the collection of information listed below has 
been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for approval 
under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. chapter 
35). Copies of the proposed collection of information, the related form

Title: Areas Designated by Act of Congress, 30 CFR part 761

Abstract: 30 CFR part 761 allows coal mining companies to submit 
documentation that demonstrates it meets the definition of Valid 
Existing Rights (VER) to mine coal in an area prohibited by the Surface 
Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA). OSM will use the 
information in making a VER determination.
