Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure Assistance Program
(TIIAP)
AGENCY: National Telecommunications and Information Administration,
Department of Commerce.
ACTION: Notice of partial rescission of funds for fiscal year 1995.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: The National Telecommunications and Information Administration
(NTIA) previously announced the availability of $64 million in funds
for the Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure Assistance
Program (TIIAP) to promote the widespread use of advanced
telecommunications and information technologies in the public and non-
profit sectors.1 By providing targeted, matching demonstration and
planning grants, TIIAP will help to develop a nationwide, interactive,
multimedia information infrastructure that is accessible to citizens in
rural as well as urban areas. A partial rescission of $15 million of
the TIIAP funds, however, was recently enacted by Congress.
