Russell Corp., Marianna, Florida and Jerzees Activewear,
Niceville, Florida; Amended Certification Regarding Eligibility To
Apply for NAFTA-Transitional Adjustment Assistance
In accordance with Section 250(a), Subchapter D, Chapter 2, Title
II, of the Trade Act of 1974 as amended (19 U.S.C. 2273) the Department
of Labor issued a Certification of Eligibility to Apply for Worker
Adjustment Assistance on November 24, 1998, applicable to all workers
at Russell Corp., Marianna, Florida. The notice was published in the
Federal Register on December 16, 1998 (63 FR 69314).
At the request of the company, the Department reviewed the
certification for workers of the subject firm. The workers are engaged
in the production of men's and women's activewear (T-shirts, plackets,
headwear and fleece). Findings show that Jerzees Activewear, Niceville,
Florida is a division of Russell Corp. The workers are engaged in the
production of knitted T-shirts and sweatwear. The company reports that
worker separations will occur at Jerzees Activewear when it closes in
July, 1999.
Accordingly, the Department is amending the certification to cover
the workers of Jerzees Activewear, Niceville, Florida.
The intent of the Department's certification is to include all
workers of

Russell Corp. adversely affected by increased imports from Mexico.
The amended notice applicable to NAFTA-02667 is hereby issued as
follows:
All workers of Russell Corp., Marianna, Florida (NAFTA-02667)
and Jerzees Activewear, Niceville, Florida (NAFTA-02667A) who became
totally or partially separated from employment on or after September
8, 1997 through November 24, 2000 are eligible to apply for NAFTA-
TAA under Section 250 of the Trade Act of 1974.
