NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION
[Docket No. 50-336]
Northeast Nuclear Energy Company, et al.; Notice of Withdrawal of
Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted
the request of Northeast Nuclear Energy Company, et al. (the licensee)
to withdraw its August 23 and November 3, 1995, applications for
proposed amendments to Facility Operating License No. DPR-65 for the
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 2, located in Waterford,
Connecticut.
The proposed amendments would have revised the facility Technical
Specifications to allow outage time extensions for the Emergency Diesel
Generators and the Low Safety Injection System.
The Commission had previously issued for each application a Notice
of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment published in the Federal
Register on September 13, 1995, and March 27, 1996 (60 FR 47620 and 61
FR 13529). However, by letter dated May 14, 1999, the licensee withdrew
the proposed change.
For further details with respect to this action, see the
applications for amendments dated August 23 and November 3, 1995, and
the licensee's letter dated May 14, 1999, which withdrew the
applications for license amendments. The above documents are available
for public inspection at the Commission's Public Document Room, the
Gelman Building, 2120 L Street, NW., Washington, DC, and at the local
public document room located at the Learning Resources Center, Three
Rivers Community-Technical College, 574 New London Turnpike, Norwich,
Connecticut, and the Waterford Public Library, ATTN: Vince Juliano, 49
Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, Connecticut.
Dated at Rockville, Maryland, this 15th day of June 1999.
