Environmental Impact Statement: Snohomish County, WA

AGENCY: Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), DOT.

ACTION: Rescission of notice of intent.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: This notice rescinds the previous notice of intent issued on
June 4, 1993, to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a
proposed highway project to improve 35th Avenue SE from 100th Street SE
to Seattle Hill Road in Snohomish County, Washington.

    FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT:
Sharon R. Price, Area Engineer, Federal Highway Administration,
Evergreen Plaza Building, 711 South Capitol Way, Suite 501, Olympia,
    Washington, 98501, Telephone: (206) 753-9558; Jerry W. Alb, Manager,
Environmental Affairs Office, Washington State Department of
Transportation, Transportation Building, Olympia, Washington, 98504,
Telephone: (206) 705-7480; or John Andrews, Environmental Planner,
Snohomish County Department of Public Works, 2930 Wetmore Avenue,
    Everett, Washington, 98201, Telephone: (206) 388-3488.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Snohomish County has decided not to pursue
Alternative 3 that would widen 35th Avenue SE between 132nd Avenue SE
and 100th Avenue SE from two to four lanes. As a result of this, the
environmental studies conducted to date, and coordination with the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers; the FHWA, the Washington State Department of
Transportation (WSDOT) and Snohomish County have determined that the
project will probably not result in any significant impacts to the
environment. An Environmental Assessment (EA) will be prepared on the
    proposal rather than an EIS.
