    Williams Gas Pipelines Central, Inc.; Notice of Proposed Changes 
    in FERC Gas Tariff
    
    June 18, 1998.
        Take notice that on June 15, 1998, Williams Gas Pipelines Central, 
    Inc. (Williams), tendered for filing to become part of its FERC Gas 
    Tariff, Original Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets, with the 
    proposed effective date of June 1, 1998:
        Substitute Second Revised Sheet No. 268 Substitute Original Sheet 
    Nos. 271B, 271C, and 271D.
        Williams states that it made a filing on May 1, 1998, in Docket 
    Nos. RP98-208-000, et al., to establish procedures to be used in 
    conducting a reverse auction. By order dated May 29, 1998, the 
    Commission directed Williams to file revised tariff sheets conforming 
    to the order within 15 days after the order issued. Williams states 
    that the instant filing is being made to comply with the order.
        Williams states that a copy of its filing was served on all 
    participants listed on the service lists maintained by the Commission 
    in the dockets referenced above and on all of Williams' jurisdictional 
    customers and interested state commissions.
        Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
    with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, 
    Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
    Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
    provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
    will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
    action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
    the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
    and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
