Gulf States Transmission Corporation; Notice of Filing
June 23, 1998.
Take notice that on June 15, 1998, Gulf States Transmission
Corporation (Gulf States) submitted standards of conduct under Order
Nos. 497 et seq.\1\ and order Nos. 566 et seq.\2\ Gulf States states
that it is filing its standards of conduct to reflect El Paso Energy
Corporation's recent acquisition of Gulf States.

Gulf States states that it has served copies of the filing upon all
of its affected customers and state regulatory commissions.
Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426,
in accordance with Rules 211 or 214 of the Commission's Rules of
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 or 385.214). All such motions to
intervene or protest should be filed on or before July 8, 1998.
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the
appropriate action to be taken but will not serve to make protestants
parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the
Commission and are available for public inspection.
