Availability of Final Environmental Assessment Regarding Spartina
Control Cost-Share Program for Willapa Bay Estuary, WA
AGENCY: Farm Service Agency and Commodity Credit Corporation, USDA.
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: In May 1997, the Farm Service Agency (FSA) and Commodity
Credit Corporation (CCC) will make available their Final Environmental
Assessment regarding their proposed Spartina Control Cost-Share
Program. FSA and CCC have an interest in controlling Smooth Cordgrass
(Spartina alterniflora) in the Willapa Bay Estuary region of Washington
State. The proposed Spartina control action focuses on the coordinated
use of mechanical/physical and chemical treatment methods, also known
as Integrated Pest Management (IPM), in an environmentally and
economically sound manner.
