Pursuant to Public Law 92-463, Notice Is Hereby Given of the
Meeting of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA) National Advisory Council in June 1996
A portion of the meeting of the SAMHSA National Advisory Council
will be open and will include discussions concerning issues on SAMHSA's
appropriation and budget, reorganization, and Knowledge Development and
Application Program. These will also be a legislative update, an update
on the Agency's managed care activities, and a discussion on issues of
quality in a managed care environment. In addition, there will be a
report on an exemplary substance abuse prevention grantee, and status
reports by the Council's workgroups on Public Education, and
Children's, and

Services Integration. Public comments are welcome during the open
session. Please communicate with the individual listed as contact below
for guidance. Attendance by the public will be limited to space
available.
The meeting will also include the review, discussion and evaluation
of contract proposals and discussion of information about the Agency's
procurement plans. Therefore a portion of the meeting will be closed to
the public as determined by the Administrator, SAMHSA, in accordance
with Title 5 U.S.C. 552b(c)(3), (4) and (6) and 5 U.S.C. App. 2, sec.
10(d).
