        In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
    463, as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the 
    following meetings.
        Name: Special Emphasis Panel in Civil and Mechanical System 
    (#1205).
        1. Date: July 28-29, 1997.
        Type of Proprosal: Individual Investigator Awards.
        2. Date: July 31, 1997.
        Type of Proposal: NonDestrucive Technology.
        Contact: Dr. John B. Scalzi, Program Director, Large Structural and 
    Building Systems Program, Division of Civil and Mechanical Systems, 
    National Science Foundation, 4201 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA

        Time: 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. each day.
        Place: Room 530, National Science Foundation, 4201 Wilson Blvd.,

        Type of Meeting: Closed.
        Purpose of Meetings: To provide advice and recommendations 
    concerning proposals submitted to NSF for financial support.
        Agenda: To review and evaluate proposals submitted to the Large 
    Structural and Building Systems Program as part of the selection 
    process for awards.
        Reason for Closing: The proposals being reviewed include 
    information of a proprietary or confidential nature, including 
    technical information data, such as salaries, and personal information 
    concerning individuals associated with the proposals. These matters are 
    exempt under 5 USC 552b(c)(4) (6) of the Government in the Sunshine 
    Act.
