Petal Gas Storage Company; Notice of Proposed Changes In FERC Gas 
Tariff

July 7, 1998
    Take notice that on July 1, Petal Gas Storage Company (Petal) 
tendered for filing, as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, First Revised 
Volume No. 1, Second Revised Sheet Nos. 100 and 129, and Original Sheet 
No. 130, with a proposed effective date of August 1, 1998.
    Petal states that the filing is made in compliance with the 
Commission's Order No. 587-G, issued on April 16, 1998, in Docket No. 
RM96-1-007, requiring interstate pipelines to update to the most recent 
version (Version 1.2) of the standards promulgated by the Gas Industry 
Standards Board (GISB), and

also to comply with the non-GISB standards in Order No. 587-G 
pertaining to pipeline communication protocols, 18 CFR 284.10(c)(ii)-
(v).
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest this filing should 
file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Sections 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's 
Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed as 
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
the proceedings. Any person wishing to become a party must file a 
motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public 
Reference Room.
