Public Information Collection Requirement Submitted to the Office
of Management and Budget (OMB) for Review
The Department of Defense has submitted to OMB for clearance, the
following proposal for collection of information under the provisions
of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).
Title: Questionnaires for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Planning
Studies.
Type of Request: Expedited Processing--Approval date requested: 30
days following publication in the Federal Register.
Number of Respondents: 6,400.
Responses per Respondent: 1.
Annual Responses: 6,400.
Average Burden per Response: 30 minutes.
Annual Burden Hours (Including Recordkeeping: 3,700.
Needs and Uses: The Corps of Engineers uses these surveys for
collecting primary information from the public, concerning use of, and
involvement in, Corps of Engineers activity. These planning surveys
will gather data from the public on flood damage, navigation, the
environment, customer satisfaction, and public participation. The
information collected hereby, will be used for planning, program
evaluation, and basic research.
Affected Public: Individuals or households; Business or other for
profit; Not-for-profit institutions; Farms; State, local, or tribal
government.
Frequency: On occasion.
Respondent's Obligation: Voluntary.
