COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS
Agenda and Notice of Public Meeting of the Michigan Advisory
Committee
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and
regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, that a meeting of
the Michigan Advisory Committee to the Commission will be held from
9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 1994, at the Holiday
Inn South, 6820 South Cedar Street, Lansing, Michigan 48911, and
Thursday, August 4, 1994, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Holiday
Inn East, 3750 Washtenaw, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. The purpose of
these meetings are to examine whether there is disparate discipline of
minorities in the Michigan secondary schools and the government
enforcement of equal education opportunity.
Persons desiring additional information, or planning a presentation
to the Committee, should contact Committee Chairperson Janice G.
Frazier, 313-259-8180, or Constance M. Davis, Director of the
Midwestern Regional Office, 312-353-8311 (TDD 312-353-8326). Hearing-
impaired persons who will attend the meeting and require the services
of a sign language interpreter should contact the Regional Office at
least five (5) working days before the scheduled date of the meeting.
The meeting will be conducted pursuant to the provisions of the
rules and regulations of the Commission.
