Abstract: Sections 711 and 515 of Public Law 95-87 require applicants 
for special types of mining activities to provide description, maps, 
and plans of the proposed activity. This information is used by the 
regulatory authority in determining whether the applicant meets the 
applicable performance and environmental standards for the specific 
type of mining activity
