Credit Support of Power Supply Borrowers
AGENCY: Rural Electrification Administration, USDA.
ACTION: Advance notice of proposed rulemaking; reopening of comment
period.

SUMMARY: On June 2, 1994, the Rural Electrification Administration
(REA) published an advance notice of proposed rulemaking requesting
public comment on REA's policies on credit support required in
connection with loans to power supply borrowers (G&T's). In response to
requests from members of the public, REA is reopening the comment
period on this advance notice.
DATES: Written comments and recommendations must be received by REA by
August 17, 1994.

Administration, room 2234, 14th and Independence Avenue, SW.,
Washington, DC 20250-1500. REA requires a signed original and three
copies of all comments (7 CFR 1700.30(e)). All comments received will
be made available for public inspection in room 2234-S (address as
above) during regular business hours (7 CFR 1.27 (b)).

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On June 2, 1994, at 59 FR 28495, the Rural
Electrification Administration (REA) published an advance notice of
proposed rulemaking on 7 CFR part 1710 on REA's credit support policies
for REA power supply borrowers. The advance notice had a 45-day period
for public comments which ended on July 18. Because of requests from
the public for more time to prepare responses, REA is extending this
public comment period by 30 days. The new comment period will expire on
August 17, 1994.
