NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION
Proposed Generic Communication Testing of Safety-Related Logic
Circuits; Extension of Comment Period
AGENCY: Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
ACTION: Proposed generic communication: Extension of comment period.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: On May 22, 1995, (60 FR 27141), the NRC published for public
comment a proposed generic letter which discusses problems with the
testing of safety-related logic circuits and requests addressees to
review surveillance procedures to determine whether any of the
procedures fail to test all required portions of the logic circuitry
and, if any problems are found, to correct the problems. The comment
period for this proposed generic letter was to have expired on July 21,
1995. In a letter dated July 6, 1995, the Nuclear Energy Institute
requested a 30-day extension of the comment period to allow the
industry to prepare more comprehensive and detailed comments with
respect to the proposed generic letter provisions and impact. In
response to this request, the NRC has decided to extend the comment
period 30 days.
DATES: The comment period has been extended and now expires August 21,
1995. Comments received after this date will be considered if it is
practical to do so but assurance of consideration cannot be given
except for comments received on or before this date.

Directives Branch. U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, DC
