ACTION: Notice of open meeting.

SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act
(Public Law 92-463; 86 Stat. 770), notice is hereby given of the
following meeting: Advisory Committee on the Demonstration and
Commercial Application of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Technologies.
Date and Time: August 13, 1996, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Place: George Washington University Club, 800 21st Street, NW., 3rd
Floor--Elliot Room, Washington, DC.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Purpose of Committee: To advise the Secretary of Energy on the
development of the solicitation and evaluation criteria for
commercialization ventures, and on otherwise carrying out her
responsibilities under the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Technology Competitiveness Act of 1989 (Public Law 101-218, 42 U.S.C.
12005), as amended by the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (Public Law 102-
486, 42 U.S.C. 13201).
Tentative Agenda: Briefings and discussions of:
Review of DOE solicitation of applications for financial
assistance for renewable energy projects;
Discussion of 1997 Management Plan;
Other matters requiring Committee consideration;
Public Comment Period (10 minute rule).
Public Participation: The meeting is open to the public. Written
statements may be filed with the Committee either before or after the
meeting. Members of the public who wish to make oral statements
pertaining to agenda items should contact Thomas W. Sacco at the
address or telephone number listed above. Requests to make oral
presentations must be received 2 days prior to the meeting; reasonable
provision will be made to include the statement in the agenda. The
Chair of the Committee is empowered to conduct the meeting in a fashion
that will facilitate the orderly conduct of business.
Minutes: The minutes of the meeting will be available for public
review and copying within 30 days at the Freedom of Information Public
Reading Room 1E-190, Forrestal Building, 1000 Independence Avenue, SW.,
Washington, DC, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday,
except Federal holidays.
