ACTION: Notice.

    The Department of Defense has submitted to OMB for clearance, the 
following proposal for collection of information under the provisions 
of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

Title and Applicable Form: Service Agreement for the National Security 
Education Program; DD Form X247
Type of Request: New Collection
Number of Respondents: 200
Responses Per Respondent: 1
Annual Responses: 200
Average Burden Per Response: 30 minutes
Annual Burden Hours: 100
Needs and Uses: The information collected hereby, will be used by the 
National Security Education Program Office, or designated 
administrative agents, to verify that applicable scholarship and 
fellowship recipients are fulfilling the service obligations mandated 
by Public Law 102-183, ``The David L. Boren National Security Education 
Act of 1991.''
Affected Public: Individuals or households
Frequency: Annually
Respondent's Obligation: Required to obtain or retain a benefit.

    Written comments and recommendations on the proposed information
