    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
463, as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the 
following meeting.

    Name: Advisory Committee for Engineering.
    Date and Time: August 15-16, 1996; 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
    Place: 4201 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia, Room 580.
    Type of Meeting: Closed.
    Contact Person: Dr. Win Aung, Senior Staff Associate, National

    Purpose of Meeting: Committee of Visitors, State/Industry 
University Cooperative Research Centers Program, Engineering 
Education and Centers Division. To provide assessment of program-
level technical and managerial matters pertaining to proposal 
decisions and program operations.
    Agenda: To assess the proposal review process and technical 
management of the State/Industry University Cooperative Research 
Centers Program.
    Reason for Closing: The files being reviewed include information 
of a proprietary of confidential nature, including technical 
information; financial data, such as salaries; and personal 
information concerning individuals associated with the proposals. 
These matters are exempt under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and (6) of the 
Government in the Sunshine Act.
