RTCA Special Committee 188, Minimum Aviation System Performance 
Standards for High Frequency Data Link

    Pursuant to section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act 
(Pub. L. 92-463, 5 U.S.C., Appendix 2), notice is hereby given for 
Special Committee 188 meeting to be held August 10-14, 1998, starting 
at 9:00 a.m. each day. The meeting will be held at RTCA, 1140 
Connecticut Avenue, NW., Suit 1020, Washington, DC, 20036.
    The agenda will include: August 10, Opening Plenary Session: (1) 
Chairman's Opening Remarks; (2) Introductions; (3) Review of Agenda; 
(4) Review and Approval of Minutes of the Previous Meeting. August 10-
11: (5) Working Group (WG)-2 Minimum Operational Performance Standards 
(MOPS). August 12-13: (6) WG-1 Minimum Aviation System Performance 
Standards. August 14, Closing Plenary: (7) Review of WG-1 Status; (8) 
Review of WG-2 Status; (9) Review Activities of Other Standards Groups; 
(10) Open Discussion; (11) Confirm Dates for Future Meetings; (12) 
Closing.
    Attendance is open to the interested public but limited to space 
availability. With the approval of the chairman, members of the public 
may present oral statements at the meeting. Persons wishing to present 
statements or obtain information should contact the RTCA Secretariat,
