    Amendment #1
    
        In accordance with notices from the Federal Emergency Management 
    Agency dated July 15, 16, and 18, 1997, the above-numbered Declaration 
    is hereby amended to include the Counties of Blanco, Comal, Eastland, 
    Edwards, and Hays in the State of Texas as a disaster area due to 
    damages caused by severe thunderstorms and flooding. This declaration 
    is further amended to establish the incident period for this disaster 
    as beginning on June 21, 1997 and continuing through July 15, 1997.
        In addition, applications for economic injury loans from small 
    businesses located in the following contiguous

    counties in the State of Texas may be filed until the specified date at 
    the previously designated location: Brown, Callahan, Comanche, Erath, 
    Palo Pinto, Shackelford, Stevens, Sutton, and Val Verde.
        All other information remains the same, i.e., the deadline for 
    filing applications for physical damage is September 5, 1997 and for 
    economic injury the termination date is April 7, 1998.
