Weyerhaeuser Company Western Lumber, Kamiah, Idaho; Notice of
    Revised Determination on Reopening

On May 24, 1996, the Department issued a Negative Determination
Regarding Eligibility To Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance,
applicable to all workers of Weyerhaeuser Company, Western Lumber,
located in Kamiah, Idaho. The notice was published in the Federal
    Register on June 6, 1996 (61 FR 28900).

Based on new information received from a customer of the subject
firm, the Department, on its own motion, reviewed the findings of the
investigation. New findings show that the customer increased import
purchases of lumber from Mexico and Canada in 1995 compared to 1994.
Sales, production and employment declined during the relevant period.

    Conclusion

After careful review of the additional facts obtained on reopening,
I conclude that increased imports of articles like or directly
competitive with lumber contributed importantly to the declines in
sales or production and to the total or partial separation of workers
of Weyerhaeuser Company, Western Lumber, Kamiah, Idaho. In accordance
with the provisions of the Act, I make the following certification:

All workers of Weyerhaeuser Company, Western Lumber, Kamiah,
Idaho who became totally or partially separated from employment on
or after March 19, 1995 are eligible to apply for NAFTA-TAA under
Section 250 of the Trade Act of 1974.

Signed at Washington, D.C. this 17th day of June 1996.
    Ruseell T. Kile,
Acting Program Manager, Policy and Reemployment Services, Office of
    Trade Adjustment Assistance.
