Notice of Realty Action; Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP)
Act Classification; Sierra County, New Mexico
AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Interior.
ACTION: Correction.

SUMMARY: In notice document 97-2214 beginning on page 4322 in the issue
of Wednesday, January 29, 1997, make the following correction:
Under the SUMMARY heading, the legal description should be changed
to read:
T. 16 S., R. 7 W., NMPM
Sec. 10, SW\1/4\SW\1/4\NW\1/4\SW\1/4\.
Containing 2.5 acres, more or less.
This notice also terminates R&PP Classification on the land
erroneously listed in notice document 97-2214. The land will be opened
to the public land laws generally, including the mining laws.
DATES: Comments regarding the proposed conveyance or classification
must be submitted on or before August 18, 1997.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Upon publication of this notice in the
Federal Register, the SW\1/4\SW\1/4\NW\1/4\SW\1/4\, sec. 10, T. 16 S.,
R. 7 W., New Mexico Principal Meridian, New Mexico will be segregated
from all forms of appropriation under the public land laws, including
the general mining laws, except for conveyance under the R&PP Act, as
amended.
For a period of 45 days from the date of publication of this Notice
in the Federal Register, interested parties may submit comments to the
District Manager, Las Cruces District Office, 1800 Marquess, Las
Cruces, New Mexico 88005. Any adverse comments will be reviewed by the
State Director. In the absence of any adverse comments, the
classification of the land described in this Notice will become
effective 60 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.
The land will not be offered for purchase until after the
classification becomes effective.
On Wednesday, January 29, 1997, in Notice document 97-2214, the
NW\1/4\SW\1/4\NW\1/4\SW\1/4\, sec. 10, T. 16 S., R. 7 W., New Mexico
Principal Meridian, New Mexico, was erroneously identified for
classification pursuant to the R&PP Act of June 14, 1926, as amended
(43 U.S.C. 869 et seq.). The classification which became effective
March 30, 1997, was erroneous and is hereby terminated in accordance
with regulations contained in 43 CFR 2461.5(b)(2).
At 8 a.m. on August 4, 1997, the NW\1/4\SW\1/4\NW\1/4\SW\1/4\, sec.
10, T. 16 S., R. 7 W., New Mexico Principal Meridian, New Mexico, will
be opened to the operation of the public land laws, subject to valid
existing rights and the requirements of applicable laws. All
applications received prior to or at 8 a.m. on August 4, 1997 will be
considered as simultaneously filed. All other applications received
will be considered in the order of filing.
