    July 27, 1998.
Take notice that on July 22, 1998, Columbia Gulf Transmission
Company (Columbia Gulf), tendered for filing to its FERC Gas Tariff,
Second Revised Volume No. 1, the following revised sheet, bearing a
proposed effective date of August 1, 1998:

    Third Revised Sheet No. 286

Columbia Gulf states that on June 24, 1998, it filed with the
Commission revised tariff sheets to implement the Commission's April
16, 1998 final rule in Docket No. RM96-1-007; Order No. 587-G Standards

remove standard 4.3.4 which is no longer applicable.
Columbia Gulf states that copies of its filing have been mailed to
    affected customers and state commissions.
Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE.,
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the

provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to
the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
