Permits; Foreign Fishing
In accordance with a memorandum of understanding with the Secretary
of State, the National Marine Fisheries Service publishes for public
review and comment summaries of applications received by the Secretary
of State requesting permits for foreign fishing vessels to operate in
the Exclusive Economic Zone under provisions of the Magnuson Fishery
Conservation and Management Act (Magnuson Act, 16 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.).
This notice concerns the receipt of an application from the Government
of the Republic of Poland requesting authorization to conduct a joint
venture in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean for Atlantic sea herring and
Atlantic mackerel. The freezer trawler GRINWAL is identified as the
vessel that will receive sea herring and mackerel from U.S. vessels.
