Establishment
Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act of October 6, 1972
[Pub. L. 92-463, 86 Stat. 770-776] and Section 402(b)(6), of the Public
Health Service Act, as amended [42 U.S.C. 282(b)(6)], the Director,
National Institutes of Health (NIH), announces the establishment of the
Board of Scientific Counselors, National Center for Human Genome
Research.
The Board shall advise the Director, NIH; the Deputy Director for
Intramural Research, NIH; the Director, National Center for Human
Genome Research (NCHGR); and the Scientific Director, NCHGR, concerning
the Center's intramural research through periodic visits to the
laboratories to assess the research in progress, the proposed research,
and the productivity and performance of staff scientists.
Duration of this committee is continuing unless formally determined
by the Director, NIH, that termination would be in the best public
interest.
