    Antitrust Division; Notice Pursuant to the National Cooperative 
    Research and Production Act of 1993--Petroleum Environmental Research 
    Forum
    
        Notice is hereby given that, on May 24, 1994, pursuant to section 
    6(a) of the National Cooperative Research and Production Act of 1993, 
    15 U.S.C. 4301 et seq. (``the Act''), the participants in the Petroleum 
    Environmental Research Forum (``PERF'') Project No. 93-15 filed written 
    notifications simultaneously with the Attorney General and with the 
    Federal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the identities of the parties 
    to Project No. 93-15 and (2) the nature and objectives of the venture. 
    The notifications were filed for the purpose of invoking the Act's 
    provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to actual 
    damages under specified circumstances. Pursuant to section 6(b) of the 
    Act, the identities of the parties and the general area of planned 
    activity are: Amoco Production Company, Tulsa, OK; Exxon Production 
    Research Company, Houston, TX; Mobil Exploration and Production 
    Company, Dallas, TX; Texaco, Inc., Bellaire, TX; Chevron U.S.A., 
    Houston, TX; and Remediation Technologies, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA.
        The nature of the research program performed in accordance with 
    PERF Project 93-15 is to test, verify, develop and refine the process 
    for ex-situ soil washing of salt contaminated soils, developed under 
    PERF Project No. 91-07, by testing the process in a field/pilot scale 
    continuous mode operation utilizing various soil types, process fluids, 
    equipment and process variables.
        Participation in this project will remain open until termination of 
    the Agreement for Project 93-15.
