Meeting of the Local Government Advisory Committee and the Small 
Community Advisory Subcommittee

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: The Local Government Advisory Committee and the Small 
Community Advisory Subcommittee will meet on September 8-10, 1999, in 
Alexandria, VA. This will be a joint meeting between the Local 
Government Advisory Committee and its Small Community Advisory 
Subcommittee. The two panels will focus on exploring the role of local 
governments in the environmental protection efforts for water, air and 
land. In addition, the two advisory groups will consider 
recommendations concerning EPA's implementation of the Small Business 
Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act amendments to the Regulatory 
Flexibility Act.
    The Local Government Advisory Committee will hear comments from the 
public between 12 noon and 12:15 pm on Friday, September 10, 1999 and 
the Small Community Advisory Subcommittee will hear public comments 
between 3:30pm and 3:45 pm on Wednesday, September 8, 1999. Each 
individual or organization wishing to address the Committee will be 
allowed a minimum of three minutes. Please contact the Designated 
Federal Officer (DFO) at the numbers listed below to schedule agenda 
time. Time will be allotted on a first come, first serve basis.
    This is an open meeting and all interested persons are invited to 
attend. Meeting minutes will be available after the meeting and can be 
obtained by written request from the DFO. Members of the public are 
requested to call the DFO at the number listed below if planning to 
attend so that arrangements can be made to comfortably accommodate 
attendees as much as possible. However, seating will be on a first 
come, first serve basis.

DATES: The Small Community Advisory Subcommittee meeting will begin at 
8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8th and conclude at 4:30 p.m. on the 
9th. The Local Government Advisory Committee meeting will begin at 8:30 
a.m. on Thursday, September 9th and conclude at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.

Ramada Plaza Hotel--Old Town located at 901 Fairfax Street.
