Long Island Lighting Company; Notice of Filing

August 6, 1997.
    Take notice that Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) on July 14, 
1997, tendered for filing pursuant to Section 206 of the Federal Power 
Act (FPA), Section 35.13 of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's 
(Commission) Regulations, 18 CFR Sec. 35.13, and in compliance with the 
Commission's Order No. 888-A, issued March 4, 1997 in Docket Nos. RM95-
8-001 and RM94-7-002, a revised Open Access Transmission Tariff 
(Tariff).
    LILCO served copies of the filing upon the persons listed on a 
service list submitted with its filing, including each of its existing 
wholesale customers and the state regulatory authority for each state 
in which its existing wholesale customers are served.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such 
motions or protests should be filed on or before August 19, 1997. 
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
Commission and are available for public inspection.
