FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
47 CFR Part 73
[MM Docket No. 96-26; RM-8749]
Radio Broadcasting Services; Booneville, KY
AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.
ACTION: Proposed rule; dismissal of.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: The Commission, at the request of James P. Gray, dismisses the
petition for rule making proposing the allotment of Channel 287A at
Booneville, Kentucky, as the community's first local aural transmission
service See 61 FR 9411, March 8, 1996. It is the Commission's policy to
refrain from making allotments to a community absent an expression of
interest. Therefore, since there has been no such interest expressed
here, we dismiss the petitioner's proposal. With this action, this
proceeding is terminated.
