SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
A. Purpose
When the same item or class of items is being acquired by more than
one agency, the exchange and coordination of pertinent information,
particularly cost and pricing data, is necessary to promote uniformity
of treatment of major issues and the resolution of particularly
difficult or controversial
[[Page 44241]]
issues. For this reason, the contracting officer, early in a
negotiation of a contract, or in connection with the review of a
subcontract, must request the contractor to furnish information as to
the contractor's or subcontractor's previous Government contracts and
subcontracts for the same or similar end items and major subcontractor
components.
This information is particularly beneficial during the period of
acquisition planning, presolicitation, evaluation, and preaward survey.
The information is used to determine a firm's responsibility.
B. Annual Reporting Burden
Public reporting burden for this collection of information is
estimated to average 15 minutes per response, including the time for
reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and
maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the
collection of information.
The annual reporting burden is estimated as follows: Respondents,
2,000; responses per respondent, 10; total annual responses, 20,000;
preparation hours per response, .25; and total response burden hours,
5,000.
Obtaining Copies of Proposals: Requester may obtain a copy of the
justification from the General Services Administration, FAR Secretariat
(MVRS), 1800 F Street, NW, Room 4035, Washington, DC 20405, telephone
