    Committee: Meeting
    
    AGENCY: National Park Service, Department of the Interior.
    
    ACTION: Notice.

        Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Federal Advisory 
    Committee Act (FACA), 5 U.S.C. Appendix (1988), that a meeting of the 
    Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act Review Committee 
    will be held on November 1, 2 and 3, 1996 in Myrtle Beach, SC.
        The Committee will meet at the Sands Ocean Club Resort 9550 Shore 
    Dr., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572, telephone (800) 845-0633 fax (803) 497-
    3835. Meetings will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. and conclude not later 
    than 5:00 p.m.
        The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Review 
    Committee was established by Public Law 101-601 to monitor, review, and 
    assist in implementation of the inventory and identification process 
    and repatriation activities required under the statute.
        On the agenda for this meeting will be: discussion of the 
    committee's draft recommendations regarding the disposition of 
    culturally unidentifiable human remains in museums and Federal 
    collections; dicussions with disputants over the disposition of an 
    Oneida wampum belt currently in the possession of the Field Museum of 
    Natural History, Chicago; review of documentation related to a dispute 
    over a Hawaiian object currently in the possession of the Museum of 
    Natural History at Roger Williams Park, Providence; the committee's 
    1995-1996 report to Congress; and public comment on implementation of 
    the statute in the Southeastern United States.
        The meeting will be open to the public. However, facilities and 
    space for accommodating members of the public are limited. Any member 
    of the public may file a written statement concerning the matters to be 
    discussed with Dr. Francis P. McManamon, Departmental Consulting 
    Archeologist.
