    Notice of Public Information Collections Being Reviewed by FCC 
    for Extension Under Delegated Authority; Comments Requested
    
    August 14, 1996.
    SUMMARY: The Federal Communications Commission, as part of its 
    continuing effort to reduce paperwork burden invites the general public 
    and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the 
    following proposed and/or continuing information collections, as 
    required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13. An 
    agency may not conduct or sponsor a collection of information unless it 
    displays a currently valid control number. No person shall be subject 
    to any penalty for failing to comply with a collection of information 
    subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) that does not display a 
    valid control number. Comments are requested concerning (a) whether the 
    proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper 
    performance of the functions of the Commission, including whether the 
    information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the 
    Commissions burden estimates; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, 
    and clarity of the information collected and (d) ways to minimize the 
    burden of the collection of information on the respondents, including 
    the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of 
    information technology.
        The FCC is reviewing the following information collection 
    requirements for possible 3-year extension under delegated authority 5 
    CFR 1320, authority delegated to the Commission by the Office of 
    Management and Budget (OMB).
    
    DATES: Written comments should be submitted on or before October 21,

        Title: Section 90.176 Interservice sharing of frequencies in the 
    150-174 and 450-470 MHz bands.
        Form No.: N/A.
        Type of Review: Extension of existing collection.
        Respondents: Individuals, business or other for-profit.
        Number of Respondents: 1,050.
        Estimated Time Per Response: 2 hours.
        Total Annual Burden: 2,100 hours.
        Total Annual Cost: 0.
        Needs and Uses: The reporting requirement contained in Section 
    90.176 is necessary to determine if interservice sharing is in the 
    public interest in a particular case. The applicant is required to 
    submit information that such sharing is necessary and that interference 
    will not result to the primary users of the frequency that is being 
    requested. This information is collected only once, upon initial 
    application for a license.
